Industrial Steels was founded in 1962, and in 1979, Bob took over as owner — beginning a new chapter that continues to this day.

Bob's path to ownership is one worth telling. He started out as a janitor at Dawborn Steels, and after hours, he would answer the phones and take messages for the sales team. It wasn't part of his job — he simply saw something that needed doing. When the owner discovered who was behind the extra effort, Bob was offered a role in sales. He worked his way up to sales manager over the years that followed, learning every side of the trade before making the decision to build a business of his own.

In 2000, Mark joined his father in the business. He came to steel from a different world — having studied commerce law at university — . He set about learning the trade from the ground up, and it didn't take long before he was making it his own. More than two decades on, Mark leads Industrial Steels day-to-day. He's built the business into what it is today — carrying forward everything Bob started while shaping it for the future. His focus on customers, quality, and the team is what keeps Industrial Steels moving forward, and it's shaped a company customers know they can rely on.

Bob is still very much part of the business too. You'll find him at the office by 6am, working alongside the team, sharing decades of hard-earned knowledge, and doing what he's always done best. After a lifetime in the trade, he wouldn't have it any other way — and neither would we.
